32 years racing and cruising on Lake Ontario, bareboat chartering in Caribbean (BVI)

What boats did you own prior to the J/32? 
Sunfish, Cal21, Cal27, C&C 24 and C&C 27

What compelled you to buy a J/32?
Mid-life crisis- Boat of our dreams

What is the best feature of the J/32….second? 
Ease of sailhandling, comfort on deck and below. A huge V-berth Comfortable enough for captain and crew!

Have you added any custom features to your J/32?
Replaced Martec propeller with flex-o-fold propeller, added a bimini

Describe your most memorable J/32 voyage:
Sailed 73nm from Niagara River to Rochester NY in 10 hours. Winds 14-28 knots, offshore breeze, close reach.

Please share any add’l J/32 experiences:
September 1997 cruise through The Thousands Islands- St. Lawrence river, had rough seas approaching Kingston Ont., at the mouth of the St. Lawrence river and appreciated the incredible stability and ease of handling of the J/32.  Have appreciated continued support and guidance from John Ruehl of RCR Yachts

What are your future sailing plans with the J/32?
Continue cruising on Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River, exploring new ports and anchorage’s.
