Describe your sailing background
45 years of sailing the coastal waters of Holland and some lake sailing in Chile and Colombia

What boats did you own prior to the J/32?
Nine in total ranging in size from 12’ to 40’. The latter being an eighty year old wooden fisherman.

What compelled you to buy a J/32?
The Contessa 32 had become too difficult (my age) to sail comfortably by a crew of two.

What is the best feature of the J/32….second?
Sailing properties, she gives almost "dingy" fun. Easy to sail single-handed. Cockpit is excellent and very comfortable.

Have you added any custom features to your J/32?
Almost all the lines were brought to the cockpit. Companionway inside was lined with a teak edge, felt it looked a little bare.

Describe your most memorable J/32 voyage:
It sounds stupid but every trip is fantastic. Fast in daysailing and weekend trips, I covered already 800 miles in 3 1/2 months!! The speed is something that surprises me every time. Some data leisure crew of 2 8.4 knots in 18 knots of wind. Racing crew of 4 10.5 knots in 28 knots of wind.

Please share any add’l J/32 experiences:
Everybody loves the boat. Sadly enough she is considered too expensive in my country, otherwise the J/32 would sell like hell.

What are your future sailing plans with the J/32?
