New J/Boat Flagship J/65 Rolls Out the Door

August 31, 2005, Newport, RI……J Boats’ newest and largest addition to the fleet, the J/65, completed earlier this month at Pearson Composites in Warren, RI. She has been successfully shipped to San Diego where final commissioning and sea-trials will take place. The owner’s plans include a maiden cruise to Hawaii, where the boat will be berthed, and then more extended cruising in the South Pacific.

Sporting a sleek midnight blue hull and an exquisitely finished all-mahogany interior, the J/65 represents the latest thinking from the J Boats and Pearson Composites (formerly TPI) team, who together, since 1977, have brought over 30 new J designs to the sailing market.

The J/65 is designed for fast and comfortable global cruising and racing. Sailing systems are tailored for short-handed sailing with features including a Hall carbon rig package, Carbon/SCRIMP hull and deck laminate, Lewmar Commander hydraulic system, push button helm area sail controls, Mastervolt integrated electrical systems, and owner specified interior appointments.
